Overview

LearnAverage is a real-time BPM tap learning plugin for GrandMA3. You tap a button in time with the music and the plugin calculates the tempo, then moves your Speed Master fader to match. Instead of manually chasing the correct BPM value on a fader, you just tap — and the master updates automatically.

What It Does

• Learns BPM from repeated button taps
• Intelligently smooths out inconsistent tapping without losing responsiveness
• Applies the learned tempo directly to one or more Speed Masters
• Provides a Global Tap option to update all configured masters with a single button
• Automatically resets after a pause and re-locks quickly when tapping resumes

Why Not Just Use the Built-In Tap?

GrandMA3 has a native tap tempo function, but it only measures the interval between your last two taps. One slightly mistimed press and the BPM jumps to a wrong value — there is no correction until the next tap.

LearnAverage keeps a rolling window of your recent taps and averages them. Tapping a little early or late on one beat barely affects the result. The BPM converges on the correct value over several taps and stays locked there, so you can tap with normal human timing and still land precisely on the right BPM.

Opening the Plugin

Launch the plugin from the Plugin pool. This opens the Settings Menu.
